CS GO is the world’s most popular first-person shooter. This game was released back in 2012 by Valve, and it now has over 30 million monthly active players. CS GO has one of the best e-sports scenes, with high-level tournaments going down around the world all year. Some of the top tournaments include Blast Premier World Final, Intel Extreme Masters, and ESL Pro League. The best CS:GO teams are FaZe Clan, Natus Vincere, and Outsiders.
Here are some of the most notable transfers of CSGO players that gone done throughout the years:
● ALEX switches from Team Vitality to Cloud9. Back in 2020 ALEX was one of the best rifles in the world. He had been on an impressive run with Team Vitality. In an effort to supercharge their team Cloud9 approached Team Vitality and paid them over $1 million to sign the talented Brit.
● Nivera leaves Heretics and signs with Team Vitality. Team Vitality thought they had found the next wonderkid when they signed 19 year old Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom in 2020. However, the transfer didn’t pan out and Nivera retired from professional CSGO one year later.
● Bubzkji says goodbye to MAD Lions and hello to Astralis. The Danish player went on to help Astralis win numerous tournaments and racked up over $100,000 in tournament earnings.
● GRIM signs with Team Liquid. GRIM had been a pro for 3 years and was one of the top up and coming rifles when he signed with Team Liquid in 2020. He had a success run at Team Liquid which lasted for 2 years and is now playing for Complexity Gaming.

What Is a CS GO Transfer?

A CS GO transfer involves CS GO players moving from one team to another, for example, Patrick “es3tag” Hansen moving from Astralis to Cloud9. The Dane had only played for Astralis for a few months before Cloud9 offered Astralis $2.1 million! Unfortunately, the transfer didn’t work out for Cloud9, and Hansen is now playing for Ninjas in Pyjamas.

How Do CS GO Transfers Work?

CSGO transfers work similarly to football transfers. For example, Team A is interested in signing a particular player who is currently under contract at Team B. So Team A approaches Team B, and they start negotiating. Often Team A will have to pay an agreed-upon fee to Team B, who will then release the player, and Team A can then sign them. If a CSGO esport team is trying to sign a particularly talented player, they will have to fork over millions. Cloud9 paid over $1.5 million to Team Vitality to sign Alexander “ALEX” McMeekin back in 2020.

Why Do CS GO Teams Do Transfers?

CS GO teams conduct transfers in an effort to improve the quality of their squad. The goal of a transfer is to bring in fresh talent that can help a team become more competitive and win tournaments. Pro CS GO e-sports organizations are constantly analyzing different players rating CSGO in hopes of finding that perfect piece to the puzzle that will help them win a Major.
